So, I would suggest RevMan ( ) Cite 60 Recommendations All Answers (152) 1 2 16th Jan, 2013 Spyridon N. I am planning now to use RevMAn for the first time and do a meta-analysis on NAFLD treatments (Hepatobiliary disease). Cite 2 Recommendations 12th Nov, 2013 Evangelos Kontopantelis The University of Manchester For collecting data and especially combining across binary and continuous outcomes you might want to consider this free Excel add-in we developed: 1: latest version can be found here: Also RevMan is easy to use but I would advise against Fixed-effect meta-analyses and Stata has slightly better random-effects estimators: 2: 3: Note that in publication 3 we found heterogeneity levels to be consistently underestimated in meta-analyses and thus incorporated a sensitivity analysis in metaan (publication 2) in which the uses can arbitrarily add a heterogeneity level, say I280, to test if the findings still stand. The learning curve can be daunting, though, but most of the R packages that perform meta-analysis have an excellent documentation with code examples. Doi Qatar University I would recommend MetaXL as the easiest and most comprehensive software as it allows data entry in a large number of flexible formats. CMA can calcultate all you want but its graphics are quite poor. Usually I make calcultaions first on CMA and then perfect charts with MIX. I suggest that RevMan is not good except you are working with Cochrane review. Doi Qatar University MetaXL has pretty good forest plots as well as a unique handling of prevalence. It is also the only software that includes a bias-adjustment model to handle heterogeneity in meta-analysis. Comprehensive Meta Analysis Meta Regression Manual Included WithIts input interface is also unique in that once it is understood (see example sheets and manual included with the download) it is the most flexible software that currently exists.
